Custom platforms & digital products

When a template can't hold your idea, I build the product that can.

Marketplaces, communities, real-time games, campaign platforms with users, data and messaging. From the first flow diagram to production, by one senior person, on infrastructure you own.

Why people come to me

You know what you want. Now it needs to be built properly.

  • The first proposal was WordPress plus eleven plugins. For a marketplace with 100,000 items and filters that depend on each other, that setup rarely holds.

  • Your product team has other priorities. The campaign launches in ten weeks and the internal roadmap says next year.

  • The no-code prototype impressed everyone, then hit a wall. Real users, real data, real integrations, and it can't be extended without a rewrite.

The deliverable

A working product, not a pile of tickets.

  • Product design first. User flows, edge cases and the data model on paper before any code, then every screen in Figma, on your design system or one I create for the product.
  • The right stack for the problem. Laravel, Next.js, TypeScript, Prisma, PostgreSQL and Redis for products with users and real-time needs. Custom WordPress when the product is content-heavy and your team already lives in wp-admin.
  • Integrations that hold. Partner APIs, payment, auth, maps, real-time messaging, imports from your existing systems.
  • An admin your team runs on its own. Content, users, campaigns and reports, without a developer in the loop.
  • Deployed on your infrastructure. Hetzner, WP Engine, your cloud. Repository, domains and accounts in your name from day one.
  • Documentation and handover. Written for the next developer, whoever that is.

Products I built

Three products, three different problems.

  • Colecto by OLX (placeholder until the screenshot is ready)

    Colecto by OLX

A trading platform where collectors negotiate safely

A collectible trading platform for OLX, launched with a Kaufland campaign. Collectors find each other nearby and negotiate through a structured flow, with encrypted contact and dispute handling. Laravel 12, built to OLX design system specs.

    răspundeprimul.ro

Live multiplayer trivia, a product of my own

A real-time multiplayer trivia platform with live matches, regional leaderboards and five game modes. Built on Next.js, Prisma, Redis and Ably, self-hosted.

Process

Product in four phases, with something to click every week.

  1. 1

    Discovery

    1 to 2 weeks

    Workshops with your decision-maker.

Output user flows, data model, scope split into V1 and later, fixed price for V1.

  2. 2

    Design

    2 to 3 weeks

Clickable Figma prototype of every V1 screen. You test it with real users before a line of production code exists.

  3. 3

    Build

    6 to 10 weeks

Weekly demos on a staging URL. Integrations in the first half, not the last week. Scope changes written down and priced before they're built.

  4. 4

    Launch and roadmap

    ongoing

Load testing, monitoring, launch support for 72 hours. Then a monthly retainer for V2 features, if you want the same person on it.

Pricing

Fixed price for V1. Published ranges so you can decide fast.

Product MVP

€25,000 to €45,000+

Fixed after discovery. What moves the number: number of user roles, real-time features, third-party integrations, and whether the design system exists already.

  • Discovery only

    €3,500

If you want the flows, data model and a priced plan before committing to a build. Credited against the build if we continue.

  • Roadmap retainer

    from €1,200 a month

Payment per milestone. Prices in EUR. No VAT is added.

Liviu Jurubita, black-and-white portrait (placeholder until the photo is ready)

I’ve built platforms for OLX Group for eight years and shipped products of my own on the same stack. I do the product thinking, the design and the code. That’s why nothing gets lost between them.

Frequently asked

Is one person enough for a product like this?

For a V1 with a clear scope, yes, and it’s faster: no coordination cost, no handoffs. When a project needs more hands, I bring in specialists I’ve worked with for years and stay the single point of responsibility.

Why not WordPress?

Sometimes it is WordPress. When the product is content-driven and your team runs it from wp-admin, a custom WordPress build is the right answer. When there are users, transactions, messaging or real-time features, it isn’t, and I’ll show you why in the proposal.

Who owns the code?

You do, from the first commit. Your repository, your hosting, your accounts.

We already have a prototype in a no-code tool. Can you use it?

Yes, as a specification. It saves discovery time. The production build starts from the data model, not from the prototype’s code.

What happens after launch?

Documentation, training, and either a retainer or a clean handover. Colecto and the OLX marketplace are both on long-term roadmaps; that’s the usual pattern.

A short brief, a scoping call, a fixed price within five working days.
